STATEMENT COLLARS FOR FALL

You all know I’m not one for trends, but a big trend I’m looking forward to this fall? Statement collars. If you think about it, statement collars aren’t much of a “trend,” but more of an ode to earlier eras which has been “in” for a while now. Victorian collars, peter pan ruffles, embroidery, exaggerated collars, removable collars — it’s all fair game this season. Once again, statement collars are making quite the appearance this season and I am loving it! So I’m sharing a few ways to give statement collars for fall a try this season, affordably & adorably!

statement collar dresses under $50

These statement collar dresses immediately caught my eye! This floral, flowy number from H&M is so darling and perfect to wear right now before the official start of fall. Plus, it’s under $40 and has a few coordinating pieces that I’m also eyeing for the fall season.

And this navy dress from Target’s Universal Thread collection allows you to achieve that statement collar look for under $30. It’s available in two colors – navy and a floral. And although I opted for the navy top (go figure) remember that florals can be worn well into the fall season. The material of this dress makes it great for our current transition weather and could be paired with tall boots for the colder temps.

STATEMENT COLLARS FOR FALL

I don’t think there’s anything in particular you need to keep in mind when it comes to styling statement collars for fall, regarding clothes/colors/prints. You do however need to think about how to work with accessories and your hair. As the statement collar is taking up a lot of space around the neck and shoulders, you might want to skip a statement necklace and also go for a updo. A messy ponytail or a low bun are my go-to’s! Keeping the area “clean” will give a more defined and styled impression. And, if you do want to reach for a necklace, keep it light and classic, like my simple bezel diamond necklace I wear everyday. So, will you be trying any of these statement collars for fall? Share in the comments below!
