Outfit Details: Chicwish Sweater (C/O), J.Crew JeansJ.Crew Earrings

Can you believe Christmas is only a little over a month away?! One of the most frequently asked questions I’ve received lately is how to decorate for Christmas on a budget and also how to decorate with inexpensive holiday decor this season.

More than likely, you’re already increasing your spending during this time of year, so holiday decorating on a budget can be a little bit challenging. Especially when you see everyone’s lavish Christmas and holiday decor start to flood your feed… (THE BEST and also THE WORST!) But, with a little bit of creativity and ingenuity, holiday decorating on a budget is totally possible.

So today, I’m sharing a few tips for holiday decorating on a budget and how we can really stretch those holiday dollars this season. Let’s start decking the halls…but without emptying your bank account, shall we?

JUST ADD A LITTLE BIT OF HOLIDAY RED

After all, ’tis the color of the season, right? Adding a little bit of red ribbon, pillows, or throws around the house are a festive and simple way to do holiday decorating on a budget Incorporating red, whether it’s red ribbon on the back of your dining chairs or a red accent pillow on your couch, is one of the easiest and most inexpensive way to decorate your home this holiday season. Create a festive and fun space with just a $20 holiday throw pillow like this one here and $3 red ribbon here!

tinsel trees + all that sparkles

Tinsel trees and decor are a great and fairly inexpensive alternative if you’re looking to save some money, but still get in the holiday spirit. Just throw them in a cute little basket or get a tree skirt to make them feel a little more like a traditional Christmas tree. Not to mention… I absolutely love anything that sparkles during the holidays! Like, how glam is this tinsel tree here?!

scale down: bigger isn't always better

Holiday decor doesn’t have to be over the top by any means. As much as I’d love a 14-foot flocked Christmas tree, I just don’t have the space, nor the budget! Tabletop trees are just as fun as large Christas trees, but typically a quarter of the price! Not to mention, they make great accents for your mantel, end tables, and coffee tables! Using smaller holiday decor, like these Christmas trees here, that can double as tabletop accessories is a very practical and budget-friendly way to decorate this season.

See? Holiday decorating on a budget is completely feasible! Look for inexpensive, budget-friendly decor, see if your mom or family members have holiday decor to spare this year, or even DIY some of your own! Plus, the great thing about holiday decorating is that you really only have to make the investment once… After you initially spend the money on your holiday decor, you can pack it away and reuse it for years to come!
