HEALTHY HABITS FOR 2021

How many of us made a goal to implement healthy habits for 2021? I always make some kind of health resolution – whether it’s trying different eating habits, exercising more, drinking more water, taking time for myself – you know the drill.

Although there are some mixed opinions about setting New Year resolutions, I like them. Some do too, and others not so much. I do, however, find it hard to remember them, so I like set monthly “challenges” for myself instead. So, if you’re like me, today I wanted to share the goals I’ve set for myself this month/year and how I’m planning to achieve them!

THE GOALS I'VE SET FOR MYSELF THIS YEAR

In no particular order, here are the goals I’ve set for myself this year. I do think it’s important to write them down somewhere to keep yourself accountable. So here we go!

  • Drink more water! Did you know women should drink at least 74oz of water a day?! I definitely haven’t been drinking that much.  So, here’s to trying!
  • Get my body moving every day! With the majority of my job being done behind a computer or phone, it’s so easy to get sucked into my work and not get up for hours at a time. So this year, I’ve made a goal to walk or exercise before I start work every morning. Whether that’s a 45 min HIIT workout or a short 20 minute walk.
  • Focus on getting my skin right! I don’t know what happened but 2020 was NOT kind to my skin. So this year, I’m really going to focus on balancing the hormonal acne and perioral dermatitis I’ve been struggling with. I love going to The Skin Wellness Center for help as well! (more on all this in an upcoming post)
  • Eat better.  Now that I am almost 26, I guess I can’t live off of Chickfila and pizza anymore. Sad day. So here’s to eating healthier in 2021.
  • Create a healthier sleeping schedule. I am a night owl by nature, I typically have a hard time getting up in the mornings. We’re talking: go to bed at 3am on the regular, wake up at 8:30am or 9am. But there’s a new sleeping app on iPhones under your health data and it has really helped me create a healthier sleeping habit. I go to bed by 12am and wake up at 7:30am!

HEALTHY HABITS FOR 2021

And if you don’t have the time to go to the gym or pay for an expensive class – I hear you. I usually exercise at home and you all shared some great fitness programs with me that were free or easy to do at home! So thank you!
