Valentine’s Day is a day for romance, topped with flowers and a box of chocolates. And that’s all great, don’t get me wrong… But I’m mostly excited to have another excuse to get dressed up. I mean… what else is there to look forward to in the dead of winter?!

It’s always fun to get dolled up for a special occasion – especially a holiday! So, whether you have plans to go out with friends, your man, or you just feel like treating yourself (you go girl), I’m sharing my favorite pieces to create a classic Valentine’s Day look this year!

When in doubt: stick to the classics.

If there is anything I’ve learned over the years when I start to feel unsure about an outfit or stand in my closet full of clothes thinking to myself… “I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!”, it’s to stick to the basics because you can never go wrong.

To create a classic Valentine’s Day look, I started with a simple white button down like this one here and incorporated festive red and pink tones. My go-to and a staple in my closet.

When going for a classic Valentine’s Day look, I think sophisticated, yet feminine, and tones of red or pink. Which is why I fell in love with this red full, A-line skirt and its floral detailing. Perfect for work, cocktails with the gals, and, of course, twirling.

This red lipstick here is one of my favorite pops of red to add to any look and has great wearability. And this sweet, little red hair bow is currently on sale and comes in a pack of four! (Umm.. Score!)
